Coaching: Over the Gap

This 10-week in-depth 1-1 coaching program is designed to help you close the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be.
As you will experience, getting to where you want to be is not about the newest strategy, habit or latest hack. I assume, you have heard enough of what you should be doing.
The questions we will be exploring, is not what, but why. Why does it seem so hard to be doing what would get you where you want to be?
As you will experience, the key to closing the gap is not about getting better at moving forward, but understanding why you haven´t been able to get over the gap in the past. It is not about more effort, but all about releasing the brakes.
Whether or not we close the gap between where we are now and where we want to be, depends on how well we develop and apply six specific psychological skills in our life. I call them Inner Skills. They can be developed through intentional practice.
When we consistently develop and apply these Inner Skills, the brakes come off and we move forward, easily and effortlessly. The opposite is true when our Inner Skills are underdeveloped and misapplied. We are consciously or unconsciously blocking our efforts. We are experiencing an exhausting stop-and go ride, but never truly arrive.
The six Inner Skills are:
In order to work with your Inner Skills, we start where you are right now. Your challenges, goals and dream. What do you want your life and work really be all about? How would you feel knowing you were on track? What is currently missing? Which compromises are you making? Where do you sell yourself short? Which past experiences stand in your way of moving forward now?
The six Inner Skills are required for succeeding in all areas in life. However, how well they are developed and applied often varies from area to area. You may even discover that you apply the same skill really well in one area of your life and not so well in another.
Here are some examples of typical life areas that surface in coaching and that we will explore in relation to your Inner Skills:
- Career, influence and compensation
- Internal dialogue and voices from authority figures, past and present
- Body and health
- Love and relationships
- Contribution, life goals and mission
How does the coaching work?
Each coaching session lasts for two hours. We talk on Zoom or on the phone. If you prefer to meet in person, we´ll find a solution for that, too.
Once you enroll in the program, we will schedule all ten sessions in advance. To create maximum momentum, I recommend weekly sessions. Whenever possible, I highly recommend sticking to the same time and day for each session. Sometimes, however, life gets in the way and we will reschedule accordingly.
In the first session we define the other side of the gap. How does living your best life look for you? We will also set measurable goals that we keep track of during our work together. The following sessions are all about exploring the gap. How can you develop your Inner Skills so that you begin to do what you deep down know you should be doing? We work on releasing old habits of thought, outdated beliefs and most importantly, dig out what you really want.
Over the Gap Coaching is a significant personal and professional commitment. The investment for the coaching package is 132.000 NOK (excluding taxes). I only recommend starting the process when you are ready to make your personal and professional development a priority for the next ten weeks. The results you´ll reap will make your dedication worthwhile!
One more thing:
I have found that the number one obstacle to doing this transformative work is the fear of looking within. That is totally understandable. Since psychology´s early days the subconscious mind has gotten a bad reputation. But let me assure you, there will be no hidden ghosts or uncontrollable urges emerging from the depth of your soul. On the contrary, you will discover a wealth of insight, wisdom and courage waiting to be utilized for your journey over the gap.
